What is a hashtable?

A hashtable is a collection which inherits from IDictionary, ICollection, IEnumberable and others.

Hashtables vs dictionarys

A hashtable is a dictionary, just a generic type. Generics are faster as there’s no boxing and unboxing involved. Hashtables take the variables as objects, and as their types aren’t defined there can be issues as it’s not type safe.
